DESCRIPTION

 

The primary objective for this course is learning to effectively design and implement reality-based training (RBT) utilizing any type of Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA). Together with the instruction, the trainer will gain greater conceptual understanding by participating in a variety of reality based NLTA skill building exercises and by their active participation as a team member tasked with the development and implementation of group exercises using NLTA.

 

Since Phoenix is the only authorized UTM (Ultimate Training Munitions) Certifying Trainer and UTM is the primary NLTA during this course it enables us to also provide the Manufacturer's recognized UTM Certification. With the completion of this NLTA course, you will have the knowledge and practical experience to safely and effectively train with the UTM system as well as understanding its operational capabilities and Fail-Safe Technology.

 

Course topics include but are not limited to: approaches to NLTA training, safety, NLTA training development, role player development, phases of training, training management, time management, equipment and resources, scenario development and evaluations.

 

The course will also cover topics to include: instructor methodology, critical philosophies in reality based training; how to teach concepts and principles and not just techniques, how to set up in-service training with limitations such as time, money, facilities and other common problems. At the completion of this course the trainer will be able to utilize any NLTA converted or dedicated weapons, effectively utilize protective equipment while both actively participating and instructing in a variety of skill building exercises and serving as a team member tasked with the development and execution of NLTA reality-based training scenarios and drills.

 

Target Audience: Police, Corrections, Military, Security and Professional Training Organizations(new or experienced trainers)

 

Attire: Casual clothing, BDU, Etc.

 

Student Equipment/Supplies List:
Duty gear with handcuffs (Bring equipment that you normally wear on duty)
Long pants and shirts
Light jacket
Notepad and writing utensil
Pistol (Blue Glock 17T preferred)
UTM Conversion kits (if owned, provided for use if not owned)
Rifle/Carbine (AR-15 platform preferred)
NLTA Protective Gear (if own) - protective gear available upon request and eye protection
